Oh,the hotels on the Comfort trips are MUCH nicer, also of course more expensive. If you go on their site, you can look at the joining and departing hotels for Comfort trips and check out their websites-quite deluxe.
I have stayed in some fine, decent and charming places on Intrepid (original) trips, but having taken five of them,as I said I've also stayed in some pretty grody ones.

We're actually looking at an original or comfort style trip on Intrepid, not basic. I was just saying that I would be open to a basic, clean hotel. One of the hotels that received some poor comments (mosquitos, fleas, noisy, shabby) on Trip Advisor was the Hotel Transatlantique in Casablanca, a hotel in the comfort style Moroccan trip. So based on this and others' comments here, it sounds like the accommodations are a crapshoot. Thanks for the feedback.

Also thanks for the clarification on bags with wheels. Neither of us typically carries large bags, especially when we know we'll be moving around a lot on public transportation. We're both used to handling our own bags. I may still look into Intrepid, maybe next year (unfortunately can't be this year). I'm kind of thinking of combining a tour of Morocco with a few days on our own in Barcelona (where we could probably fly using our Aeroplan miles - also a place I want to see).
