Very interesting indeed, do you think it was found with one of their small submersibles? They certainly have all the necessary gear there to do inspect this properly, lets hope they do.

There are more wrecks to be discovered. Willard Bascom relates some interesting stories of the early days of undersea diamond mining off the Namibian coast in "The Crest of the Wave". One tale is about finding many Dutch East India Company coins dated 1746 in Meob Bay after a big storm. He also mentions finding two mummified bodies dressed in armour on a small island between Luderitz and Walvis Bay, again after another big storm.

Maybe I should have titled this thread "Group of Tourists Killed in Accident", probably would have received more of a response.

Maybe I should have titled this thread "Group of Tourists Killed in Accident", probably would have received more of a response.

LOL, or possibly "Lost luggage recovered at last"...

The article in the Cape Town paper said DeBeers and their Namibian partners are using coffer dams to make temporary sea walls, and found some miscellaneous bits and pieces on the exposed sea floor, which led to a stop of the mining works and the full archaeological magilla.

I hear a script being typed....
