Insurance - Finally

Finally got the insurance for our June safari and feel like we will be covered, should the need arise.

BC/BS has informed us that they will cover us in Africa..... But, for the price went with additional coverage with STA. Then to cover air, we got the 14 day Flying Doctors coverage and to make sure we got out of Nairobi, we took out the MedJet coverage for 15 days.

We are now set with insurance, fully paid for the safari, camera bought, clothes bought/picked out, etc. Only one thing left and that is to get the malaria meds and we are set to rock & roll.......

I forgot to mention on the other insurance threads to double check if your operator already includes Flying Doctors in their quote. Mine does, so no need to duplicate

Congrats. You've got me excited. I leave on the 28th of April. Also tryinh to finalize the insurance bit. The wording isn't always easy to comprehend though. Either way, think I'll do the Flying Doctors as well as a "just in case".

Cheers,
Juliet

The way I look at it.....fly me to Nairobi (Flying Doctors) and then to NJ/NY (MedJet) and I can make it on my own insurance. The STA is so cheap, I figured they could cover things such as baggage, delay, etc. and anything BC/BS would not cover (hopefully..

We are getting close too. Exciting isn't it? We don't leave until July 3, but that is still closer than 11 months - that's how long a go I booked this.

Don't have the insurance yet but did get the camera By the way, who is STA? I don't see them on my insurance websites.
Thanks,
Duane

Go to www.statravel.com and look at what they offer.

Again, I am not pushing them or have any affiliation with them.

Good luck.
