Innoculations for China
A friend is off to China...Jiangsu Province..a little north of Shanghai...and he needs to know what innoculations he needs. He's been getting the run-around from the health system. Hope someone can help. We're in the Los Angeles area and he needs to know where to get whatever innoculations he needs. He doesn't have medical insurance. Thanks and happy travels!

Check the following site:
www.cdc.gov/travel then select East Asia - where China is located. Yellow Fever is not required; malaria meds are required/suggested for certain regions. And there is other information on the site that should be read. Then for what he may need, he should contact the Public Health Dept. in LA and ascertain what they can/do provide and the costs, if any. If the Public Health Dept. doesn't have/can't provide what is needed, then your friend may have to pay his own money. Bye the way, has your friend obtained his Visa for travel to China? They have an office in the LA area, and should be another good resource for health requirements for entry into their country. |
Thanks for the info. I'll give him the info.

I got all of my shots and information for a trip to East Africa at the International Travel program in Pasadena at their community health center. It was very easy to get to, and inexpensive for someone without insurance. Good Luck Their number is 626-744-6128.
