If we FLY instead of driving from Joburg to KNP---What would we miss?
I have seen a few sights mentioned and a timeframe of about 5 hours. If we flew from JNB to one of the Kruger NP airports....what we would miss? Is the drive there a high point? Or is saving the drive time a better idea? Thanks

Hello,
You wouldn't miss much...the Panorama Route is nice, but is not really a feature of the Joburg-Kruger route as it runs north-south rather than east-west. I looked into this myself and found that there wasn't much to see or do. Personally, I'd save the drive time. If you get the cheap Kulula flights, it may also be less expensive to fly once you add the cost of petrol and the one-way drop-off fee (assuming you don't plan to keep the car with you the entire time) to the cost of the car hire.
Cheers,
Julian

Hi! On my two trips to the Sabi Sands, i have flown one time to Mala Mala (direct) and driven to Lion Sands on the previous time.
I would just save the time and fly. The drive is nice, but nothing spectacular. Or you could fly to Skukuza and organize a pick up to any place u need to be

I thought Skukuza airport was closed. that is why SAA fly direct to Mala Mala. Though on our recent trip we were told that there is talk of reopening Skukuza, which would close down the SAA flight to Mala Mala.
