Info about traveling to Qatar

Would like to travel to Qatar but am concerned that I may run into difficulties as a female traveling alone. Does anyone have any insight/advice for me?

I don't think there will be any problem with a single female traveling alone in Qatar. Qatar is relatively progressive, unlike Saudi Arabia.

Women can drive, vote, go to school, work in business and are active in politics. Women can choose to cover-up or not, but if westerners are permitted into a mosque, do remember a head covering and conservative cloths.

The US central command for the war with Iraq is now located in Qatar.

If you've read up on and found things of interest to visit and see and can find a tour operator at home or in Qatar, I believe you should be fine. But I would suggest you contact the Qatar Embassy in Washington and get whatever information you need regarding your questions, visa requirements and length of stay.
