A quick primer on Zim safari economics.
1 You spend thousands on a wonderful safari.
2 A couple of bucks goes in the pocket of good, honest Zimbabweans, trying to feed their families, just as it would if you went to Malawi, Zambia or any other struggling nation.
3 Hundreds of dollars go straight into the pocket of Mugabe's cronies and warlords.
4 Ever wonder where they get the money to hire thugs and steal elections? This is one way.
Sorry about the "tone" of the posting. Reality is a tough concept for plenty of you on this site. Not everything is a beautiful vacation.
But like I said, if you want to close your eyes and go there anyway, it's your choice!
PS--Rocco, I am a HUGE advocate of Zim and I have spent years living there. That's why I care so much about the place and its future.
You care about selling safaris and if Mugabe's guys get their cut, so be it.
