Immunizations needed for Egypt?

Hi, planning a trip to Egypt, does anyone know if any immunizations or shots of any kind are needed for Americans?

Hi,

my wife and I are Aussies and travelled to Egypt in May. We required Hepititas A, Typhoid and a booster Tetanus shot. We didn't require Malaria tablets as we were not visiting the Nile Delta.
I'd suggest you consult your Traveller's Medical Centre before you go for the latest info.
regards
Steve

Egypt is one of the Third WOrld countries that do not require special vaccination. If your tetanus shots are not up to date by all means get a new one. Check with you personal physician on your shot record to be sure all are up to date. Any Hepatitis shot is an option that should be considered but again you could get Hepatitis in the States and not just overseas.

There is no innocculation against the most dangerous disease in Egypt - Mummy Tummy! Just DON'T drink the water, view fresh fruits with suspicion, and use caution with any food you are not familar with.
