"I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it . . .
I'm about to lose control and I think that I like it."
Hmmm, why has this Pointer Sisters song been running around my brain? Oh yea, leaving for Africa in 6 hours.
Pre-trip thanks to the usual suspects: Patty, sandi, leely and our agent-in-the-field eben.
Also, thanks to atravelynn, ShayTay, and csuss (you responded to my first post--I got sentimental and looked it up).
Thanks to nyamera, cooncat, dennis, wjson, kavey, cyn, sundowner, cybor, and lynda for their well wishes.
thanks to lifelist, sundowner and maurice for technical advice--inverter 101.
Thanks to Phil for camera advise.
Thanks to sarvowinner for posting a quick report when I am sure she was tired.
Thanks to amfs for her report but of course thanks to everyone who reported because you answered the difficult question: OMG, now that I have booked the trip but I have to wait 9 months whatever will I do?
No thanks to Rocco for posting his 5 star version of my trip over, and over, and over again. Oh, just kidding, thanks to Rocco for sharing his passion for Africa in such an infectious way.
Thanks to the many posters who asked questions so that I did not have to or was able to refine mine.
I think you see where I am headed--thanks to all in Africa Fodorville. It has been a pleasure living this second life among my imaginary friends (SO adopted that from a response by Gail in an earlier Patty thread.)
did I say second life? not sure which is the primary one any more.
I have learned so much from this armchair and now I go out to learn so much more--and so much more well-prepared than I would have been without all of you.
So I leave very excited, not wanting the trip to end and yet looking forward to sharing it with you upon my return.
