If sending Mail or Packages to KENYA by Fedex-DON'T!

Hi,you know that old saying "dont fix it if it aint broken" I should have remembered.
Should have stuck with the US POSTAL SERVICE.My Fiancee and I got lucky with the package I sent her.It arrvied in KENYA after 2days.It took another 10 days for her to get it.
Part of the issue was CUSTOMS,most of the issue was FEDEX on the KENYA side.
If you send using USPS it goes straight to the POST OFFICE in NAIROBI. If you send it (USPS)using priority they will call the person to come and get it.When the customer arrives they open the box right there go through it-and figure out a tax.No problems all these years.
The reason we tried FEDEX is,we were being told it was safer to use FEDEX-especially if sending documents. Not really. It turned out to be a circus the FEDEX there.Too unreliable and takes too long-WAY too long.
Just a note about it in case anyone is planning on sending anything over there.
Thanks, David

I purchased a Nook worth $69 on ebay, the seller ends up sending it via Fedex to Kenya, Delivered in time but I have paid some fee I have never paid while using USPS for the last 4 years, called IDF and Agent fee totaling to $73. I feel conned. I cant return this to the sender it will even be more expensive now

I have been sending packages to Kenya for 11 years through USPS priority.
Once made a mistake of using FedEx to send documents and it was a torture. Never again!
