Icy conditions currently near Kilimanjaro summit.
 

Mount Kilimanjaro currently has an excessive amount of ice near the summit. The ice exists from just below the crater rim until the summit. This encompasses Gilman’s Point (18,600 feet) and Stella Point (18,885 feet) up to Uhuru Point (19,345 feet).

For your safety, bring micro spikes or similar spike/chain devices. Micro spikes will prevent slipping on the ice. If you have crampons, you may bring these instead of micro spikes. However, micro spikes are sufficient.

Micro spikes are generally not available at rental shops in country, so you'd want to bring them from home.
