I am off for safari...

Well, I am off for safari to northern Tanzania, leading 2 safaris back-to-back. When I have access to the internet in between safaris, I will try to update everybody on the status of the rains, as well as the wildebeest migration. It should be an excellent safari, especially down near Ndutu, as the recent rains have created a lush paradise.

See you all in 3 weeks.....

That's great! I am really interested in your mechanics of capturing the herds against the vast green vistas! It will be a good lesson for me!

Where are you staying at Ndutu?

Have a wonderful trip. My daughter and I are off to Tanzania in 17 days for our first safari!

Thanks, everybody.

Eben, we are staying at Ndutu Lodge, unless something has changed. My guides on the ground have the ability to quickly change locations if needed, like camping at Naabi or something closer to the herds.

This should be an interesting safari, as I will be testing out some medium format digital equipment, on loan from Hasselblad. I am more 'at home' with my 35mm gear, but I will also be bringing some larger Hasselblad lenses, like their 300mm f/4.5 lens. Could be wonderful capturing the gnu-scapes in 39 megapixels!

I will post images in about a month.

You should have a great time. We just got back from a similar trip and it was fantastic. We used Good Earth Tours and they did a super job for us all the way.
