how many bottles of skeeterbeater?

Any suggestions on how much skeeterbeater is required for two people on a two week trip?

...as I recall to Tanzania in Dec. Just added that detail, but I have no experience in Tanzania at that time.

If you are purchasing insect repellent six months out, I tip my hat to you for being very organized and on top of things.

Yes. Tanzania in Dec. I'm simply trying to prepare a shopping list and collect "stuff" gradually instead of a last minute rush. Also allows me to distribute expenses over 6 months instead of suffering in one :-).

Small bottle (2.5 oz or so) should be enough. We always take one but end up using the stuff the lodge provides since it works better :) This is based on three trips to Tz of 10, 12 and 14 days for two people in Jan and April.

I think we've only see a handful of mosquitos (maybe 3 total) but you still need the bug dope to discourage the flies.

Thanks Bill - I didnt realize that the lodges provide you with repellants.

What's the one thing you forgot on the first and made sure you took along in the next two?!

Do you happen to know what it is the lodges provide that "works better'?
Thanks

Thinking ahead is important; for example, if I decide to spray some of my clothes, that job is best done out of doors, I may not be able to do that right before my January trip, as I live west of Boston.

Thanks Bill - I didnt realize that the lodges provide you with repellants.

Not all lodges supply this but two Serenas we stayed at did (Manyara and Serengeti). So still wise to bring your own bottle ...

What's the one thing you forgot on the first and made sure you took along in the next two?!

It was the other way around for us, we took a lot of things the first trip that we didn't need and took less on the second and third trips :)

Surprisingly it had a lower % DEET, I think only 15% ... the really high % DEET seems too harsh for my skin and can eat away at the camera finish.
