How does Ulusaba compare to Singita?

We're looking at 3 nights at Singita Boulders and are tempted to add an additional 2 nights at Ulusaba before we head north to Vic. Falls/Chilwero/Mombo. Anybody been to both Ulusaba and Singita? Thanks for the help!

Have been to Ulusaba (not the lodge on the side of the cliff) in July 2002 and to Singita Boulders Dec 2003 & Dec 2004. The gameviewing was good in both places and the food was great in both places. But the difference was in the accomodation - Ulusaba's general lounges were very nice and similar to Singita Boulders, overlooking a dry (at the time) river bed. Your accomodation is the difference. Singita Boulders is exceptionally luxurious,I have taken two nieces there, one was 21 and the other last December was 14 - the girls could not stop smiling everytime we entered our room - so if it was just between those two places, I would spend the whole 5 nights at Singita Boulders. The staff were fantastic at both places - I had female rangers all three times and they were both great.

Hope this helps.

austkaye -
Thanks so much for your reply. I should have stated that we were looking at Ulusaba's Rock Lodge, not Safari Lodge. Do you know if there is any difference in quality of the rooms at Ulusaba's two lodges? If not, your suggestion regarding a longer stay at Singita is much appreciated!

Dear travelwmn,

We did have a morning tea at the Rock Lodge, but did not view the rooms - probably unlikely that they were radically different - given the Lodge is on the side of a cliff, the scenic view is great, but other than baboons or vervet monkeys - gameviewing would not be walking past the Lodge.

Happy to help!
