You guys are great! Thanks for all the advice. I called Delta and they were 'surprised' that I even knew about the change as it was just announced and they haven't even started calling people yet.(Fodor's folks in the know!) I can get on a flight out of NY but it will eat up my entire day we had planned for J'burg before the safari. Not that big of a deal I guess. I will try Rocco's recommendation of flying to Europe then using points to get to SA but at least we are OK for now. As Lily said(mom of twins)any flight without the kids will feel like first class to me and I'm sure I will survive. I have actually never flown first class so won't know what I am missing. I worry about DH cause he is 6'4" but he is up for it too sooo...

Travelsmith has an amazing full body pillow that is very light and easy to inflate ,about three breaths (it can even be attached to the air). My father in law used it recently going cross country and found it remarkably comfortable.
