I would not pay more for the Sheraton at all. The Steinberger used to be a Meridian and it is just fine. Both are nice enough hotels, but the Steinberger may be a bit better. The Sheraton is not a highrise, whereas the Steinberger is. You may like one style more than the other, but for my money the Steinberger is fine.
