Hotel in Emirates

My husband and me will go to VAE in two weeks.
Does anybody know something about Al Hamra Fort Hotel? We are going to rent a car, so it is not important in which emirate the hotel will be. The only thing is that we want to have a quiet base for our tours with a nice beach. Last time we were quite disappointed of the hotel (Sharjah), because it was crowded with Russian people, who didn't behave well.
Thanks in advance.

We stayed at the Al Hamara Fort hotel last February for a week. It was a very nice stay. Rooms are nice and food is good in all of their restaurants.

The hotel is located an hour drive from Dubai airport. There is no town around. Ras Al Khaimah town is a 15mn drive from there.

Service was good, sometimes not too well organized but they were willing to do their best!

The resort is located in a quiet area, but they are just building new villas next to the hotel, so you may be disturbed by construction noise while on the beach or sitting at one of the pools.

They actually have two pools but one was under repair for the whole week we were there.

On the other side of the hotel, you have some truck traffic (they are building a kind of jetty 200 yards from the hotel), but it is not too much of a problem.

There were some families with kids but mostly couples. Customers were British ones + some Germans, Swiss, Americans, French and Italians.

Do not hesitate to write, should you like more details.

If you want to rent a car, mind the numerous "sleeping policemen" on the roads. They are used to slow down traffic because Emiratis sometimes do not respect road rules and want to drive quickly!!!

I only know about Dubai but the main torist hotels are on Jumeira beach about 20 mins drive from the city. The beach is very long with half a dozen very good quality hotels on it. the hotels aren't packed together so you can find plenty of space on the beach. The sea is crystal clear and nice and warm.

Enjoy UAE.
