Hotel in Capetown Dec. 2020

Happy Saturday all!

I’m having a tough time selecting a hotel for our Christmas Break trip.
We have 4 nights in Cape Town before heading on Safari in Botswana.

We are 4 people - the kids are both 18 and older.

I think we want to stay around the V and A waterfront as it seems to be the spot!
Anyone have any great recs? Cape Grace and the One and Only are out of our budget or booked or both. ,)

We were given some recs... Lawhill, Radisson Blue, and Taj. But open to anything that is great!

thanks!

Mt. Nelson!!! Not at the Waterfront, which to me is good thing, as that area is kind of an upscale shopping mall...nice to visit but no need to stay there.

We love the "Nellie" and I also like Kensington Place, more of a guesthouse than hotel. See what kind of price you can get at Mt Nelson. Are you working with an agent because if you are, he or she can surely get you either a better price or more perks than you would get on your own.

If not there on a Thursday through Saturday (when it's noisy due to bars and nightclubs nearby ) have a look at the Cape Heritage Hotel. But maybe the "kids" would want to be on Bree Street. Or you may want to split your stay with a few days closer to Cape Point/Simon's Town or around Camps Bay. Just depends on what you want to do.

We did finally get to take that trip ! Last summer (2022)
We stayed at the Victoria and Alfred and we really enjoyed the hotel, the service, and the location.
