hotel at/near Tel Aviv airport

Hey all-
Is there a hotel at or near Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv? I'll be arriving at midnight on Sunday night and I need to meet my dad in the morning at the airport. It seems crazy to go into the city at that hour...I've never been there before...
Thanks,
Jon

The ONLY airport hotel I know of may not even exist anymore. It's called AVIA.

Sorry, I should have done my research BEFORE posting an answer...

Yes, it DOES exist:

Jon,
AVIA is a dreadful hotel. Don't use it. As stated before, Going to Tel Aviv a midnight is about 20 min by taxi (about 25 dollars).

Due to security the checkpoint is 6 km from the airport... So few more kilometers, and you're in a hotel!

Can your dad meet you at your hotel? The new airport is large and may get confusing.

I would advise you to go to a hotel and get a few hours of sleep. He only needs the name of your hotel to meet you there after taking a taxi. Or, if you want to start your visit in Jerusalem, a shuttle is $10 to the hotel's door.

i have to meet him at the airport in the morning and we are taking off for a really busy trip so i thought getting a few hours sleep would be the best thing. whats so bad about the Avia? do they have a free shuttle from the airport?

Believe me. It is an awful hotel at a disgusting location. It is not in the airport. So if you have to get into a taxi why not use a decent hotel in Tel Aviv?

ok can you recommend a few cheap and nice places in tel aviv?

eri Apr 16th, 2006 10:14 PM

What do you consider "cheap"?

My friend always stays at Maxim. I know the location is good, on the sea shore, on the promenade. And as she stayed there more then once, I guess I can recommend it.

The Maxim sounds pretty reasonable indeed:
