Aloha!

We are going to East Africa (Kenya) for the first time in August. So I am no expert. But I can tell you the quotes really varied on the trip we decided on.

Hence, I suggest you try several operators for competitive quotes. If you want someone US based I suggest Sandi with African Serendipty (she posts often to this message board) Her prices were very reasonable.

We went with Southern Cross out of Mombasa. Benjamin Murwayi was our contact. They were the least expensive and seemed to have clout with the places we wanted to stay.

You might have your best luck with Serah at Eastern and Southern out of Nairobi.

I suggest you search some more on this site because there are other operators who may be better because of your Zanzibar portion.

Hopefully you will get some better advice from Fodorites who have actually been there.

Mahalo,

Kevin

P.S. We own a condo at Vista Waikoloa on the Big Island. See www.vistawaikoloa.com

Hi cln2day

The cost seems really high to me - though i don't know much about prices.
a quick look at www reveals:

Selous is 465$ pp pn
http://www.tanzania-holiday.com/eng/...and-river.shtm

Contact Richard's (if this is your choice) http://www.richardscamp.com/index.htm
ask for rates
e.g. accommodation for both of you is 370$ quoted by http://www.kenya.za.net/Exclusive_Sa...ara-kenya.html
u may get even better rates direct !

@ a flying safari means the camp takes care of your game-drives as well - what do u need an agent for ?

@@ The flights can b arranged by your agent together with international
(Zanz city tour ? it's peanuts...)

u must have an agent - contact Sandi as previousely been suggested

good luck
