Holiday to South Africa July 2003

I and two children ages 12 and 11 are joining my husband in South Africa at the end of his working trip in Pretoria.

We plan to spend a few days in Pretoria stayning at the Cortyard Hotle then tavel up to Pilanesberg and spend 3 nights at the Bakubung Lodge. We will then fly to Cape Town from JoBurg and spend six nights there staying at Le Splendida.

What will the weather be like in both of these places, should we expect rain and wind in CapeTown?

Are vaccinations and malaria tablets really necessary for the places we will be visiting?

Hello Weeval44,

As I see it you will not need vaccinations and malaria tablets for the places that you are going to.

Weather wise Cape Town will probably be cold (8-12C = 53F)and rainy but you never know as it could even be warm. Your chances of cold and rainy weather are more prevalent though.

Enjoy SA when you visit us.

On the weather in Pretoria/Johannesburg and the Pilansberg ...
The nights will be cold with temperatures usually below 5 C, but it warms up a lot during the day and can be as high as the low twenties - especially in Pretoria.
