Highly recommend Tanzania Serengeti Adventure Ltd
I have just returned from Africa where for part of my stay I went on safari with Tanzania Serengeti Adventure Ltd, owned by Iris D'souza. Our driver James was wonderful and we saw lots and lots of wildlife. Our stays were also incredible. I dealt directly with the company and being a solo traveler, there weren't many options. I shared the safari with a family of 4 who welcomed me as one of their own and had a wonderful time. It felt like a private safari but at a much cheaper cost.
If you have any questions, please ask. |
How was the landscape of Tanzania you saw, like?
Did you have enough time to check out the basic infrastructure of the place. A friend of mine might be considering on moving soon there. |
Ho Bostonmomo, I am also a solo traveller and I want to do a Safari in Tanzania end JUNE 2020, not camping and not lodges but campsites with real beds and bathrooms... no more than 6 days 5 nights to do Serengeti the crater and Tangarire ok no worries if it is not included.. what do you think? there are SOOOO ,many operators! I found safaris365 and was quoted single acomm for 6 days to the 4 places at campsites and some nice lodge for usd 2500.... it is so tiring looking for the correct one..it includes water and coffee unlimited.. thank you for your time to give me some feedback! (Arusha accomm on my behalf..dont mind as I can choose something I like...
cheers, Dolores from Argentina |
Glad you had a good time; Tanzania is great.
I highly doubt this is a self-promoting fake review since your account has been active for 12 years, but you ought to know that your post comes off as the type of "fake" review that is commonplace on the internet given the lack of any substance ("our stays," "lots and lots of wildlife"). It'd be more useful and persuasive if you perhaps said what parks and lodges you visited and gave a little bit of detail about why you felt your driver and the company were wonderful. I'm also not sure why you feel that there aren't many options for solo travelers. There are tons of group tours and you can do a solo tour (albeit, expensively). |
Hi Doloroes, I am an expat from England living in Arusha, Tanzania. It can be a bit overwhelming looking for reputable companies. I suggest reading reviews about the company on different platforms, gathering a few different quotes, and then if you are happy with the cost/operator then just go for it. Also, make sure that if you are required to pay a deposit then check that it is through a secure payment provider. I can recommend a few tour operators in Tanzania, which I have used personally or have heard are reputable:
Face of Africa Adventures JorAfrica Tanzania Specialist Authentic Tanzania Best of luck, and take your time you will find the right company for you. Jessica |
HI JESSICA
THANK YOU YES IT IS OVERWHELMING ALREADY DIZZY WITH SO MANY QUOTES AND FEELING PRESSED TO ANSWER! will have a look at those suggestions Tanz specialist is way above my meager budget and I have expensive taste :) :) Shalomsafaris gave me a very good quote for 12 days that I am trying to reduce to 8 days and reduce cost the other is WILDEJBEET or something like that and Visitkenytaours incase you have heard of any of them thanks a lot for your concern...cheers..Dolores PS..I intend to visit MASAI MARA. SERENGETI THE CRATER AND PARK AMBOSELI..DO U THINK TARANGIRE IS WORHT? OR THOSE 4 ARE OK? CHEERS AND THANK YOU for your time!! |
Have you contacted Face of Africa Adventures, we used them for a family safari and were really affordable. Sorry I haven't heard of the others. Have you thought about doing a group safari to reduce the cost?
In regards to Tarangire it really depends on time and money, but I would say yes it's worth it. I really like the diverse terrain, high concentration of elephants, also it's on the way to Ngorongoro and Serengeti. I would say your itinerary does seem quite an expensive one, how will you be travelling to each place? Amboseli and Mara are quite far away from each other. Have you thought about not doing Masa Mara or Serengeti as they are the same ecosystem therefore are very similar in experience. But this is just my opinion you do what you feel is right for you. |
hello,Amboseli and Mara are in Kenya,so you can do these two safaris then crossover to TZ for the Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti adding Tarangire wouldnt add for a touch of variety, while in kenya you can do a budet camping group joining for the two destinations and an added destination say l.Nakuru because Amboseli and Mara are far apart so having Nakuru would be a much needed rest as well as good sight seeing

Hi Gemmy
Well your advice is less frustrating How about doing this then DAY 1 NBO to Lake Nakuru when I arrive DAY 2 next day go to Ambosoli - DAY 3 AMBOSOLI full day DAY 4 Next day cross to Tz and do the Crater DAY 5 CRATER DAY 6 CRATER TO SERENGETI AFTER MIDDAY DAY 7 SERENGETI DAY 8 SERENGETI DAY 9 SERENGETI TO ARUSHA or NBO Dont do Tangariro as I am doing the Lake? and finish in Arusha? where I can take my flight to Zanzibar..(this I organize myself) THANk you if you can send me also another feedback ! MY BUDGET mid range. donde like unfortunaltely budget campings, i like the campsites with real beds and showers also the lodges if they are rustic and have only a few tents/bungalows.. thanks a lot to everyone... |
Hi Jessica
Reading others what wud u think of this? my budget is mid range I dont like budget campings in small tents unfortunately my budget is only for the safari (zanzibar is organized by myself is only a flight and the beach) How about this DAY ONE upon arrival at intl airport go to AMBOSOLI according to google maps 20 minutes drive DAY TWO LEAVE after midday to Serengeti DAY THREE Serengeti DAY FOUR Serengeti (will do the balloon ride) DAY FIVE go to the Crater (2 hours drive?) DAY SIX Crater DAY SEVEN Crater DAY EIGHT Crater to Tongariro DAY NINE Tongariro DAY TEN Tongariro to Arusha..end of the itinerary I will be charged for single accommodation but willing to join small group of no more than six All the quotes are in the range of USD 3200 7--8--10 days so hard to decide..I would prefer an organized tour in a group as I am a solo traveller WOULD BE FOR JUNE dont know if early June or mid June..so many opinions.. thank you |
