Hermanus Restaurants

My wife and I will be spending this coming New Year's Eve in Hermanus as part of a much-delayed honeymoon. Does anyone have a recommendation for an appropriately delicious and romantic dinner spot?

Thanks!

I always dine at the Burgundy resaurant.
I have always had a fab meal and thet also have a wonderful selection of wines from Hermanus.
Try A chardonay from Hamilton Russel estate.

I agree that Burgundy is a lovely spot.

As mentioned a few posts up, the restaurants at the Marine are quite good.

We had the opportunity to stay there for 3 days with breakfast and dinner included and the food was very good.

Hitman,

We were just in Hermanus a few weeks ago.
you've had answers for dinner spots... If the day after (or before) you're looking fora cracking lunch location we had lunch at the restaruant (aptly named "heaven") at the Newton Johnson wine farm. It is no more than 5 miles drive up the Helen-en-Arde valley and is just stunning (views and food). Need to book ahead

Also, if you're driving from Hermanus to the Stellenbosch area (or back) consider stopping for lunch at 96 Winery Road (between Stellenobosch and Somerwet West). We found it out of the 2008 John Platter wine guide and it was quite possibly the best meal we had in our two weeks in the Cape area. http://www.96wineryroad.co.za/

I think Harbour Rock is also worth mentioning. They have great Sushi and seafood. :)

I noted a few dining recommendations made by well-known Hermanus resident Anthony Hamilton-Russella couple of months ago...

For myself, I second the recommendation for the Marine -- we had a fabulous romantic weekend there. For a honeymoon meal, it's worth it.
