Help with Zambia itinerary? Victoria's Fall, South Luwangha NP
I will be spending around 2 weeks in South Africa, and plan the last week in Zimbabwe- Zambia. So i arrive either on the 2nd or 3rd June at Victoria's Fall, around 12pm from Jo'burg, plan to cross the border into Zambia.
Any recommendations on where should i spend the night? Anything midrange is ok. Upon arrival in Zambia, is it realistic to make a trip to South Luwangha National Park? I need to catch a flight by 8th June from Lusaka to Jo'burg on this day. If not do you have any recommendations on which other national parks in Zambia I can do? I am just worried about the bus connections I need to take from Livingstone- Lusaka- Chipata- Lilongwe- South Luwangha... |
For the kind of time you have,I suggest you fly into Vic falls, spend a day or two.Not sure what your interests are.Vic fall is obviously the destination for the magnificent falls, this depends on the time of the year.Off season its just a trickle. There are other activities for the adrenalin junkies.Gorge swing, bungee, white water and so on.There is of course the Zambezi cruise and fishing.
As you seem to have only 5-6 days,South Luangwa is a long haul on land from vic falls.Proflight has flights to Lusaka and onward to S Luangwa. For a visit to a NP your best bet would be to do either Hangwe (Zimbabwe) or Chobe(Botswana) from Vic falls. |
Hwange Zimbabwe.Sorry.

Thanks inquest. You're right. I actually didn't realize how close Chobe NP was to the victoria falls. I instead decided to do this, does this sound maybe more plausible?
3rd, 4th June- Maun, Botswana and Okavango Delta 5th, 6th June- Chobe NP 7th June Victoria Falls 8th return flight to Jo'burg |
I will agree with inquest !
