HELP with finding a safari

Hello,
So we are almost finished booking our trip for this June and have booked almost everything and were planning staying at Elephant Plains. They are now only available for 2 of the 3 nights we need and we can't really move the rest of our schedule around. Any suggestions for somewhat similar price places right around there? I guess it is not really possible to spend 1 night somewhere else and then 2 nights at Elephant Plains so I guess I need one place for 3 nights. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Never been, but have heard a few good things about these 2 places near EP

(1) Arathusa
(2) Chitwa Chitwa

See this map.

Some indirect help maybe. Here's a map showing EP and the other safari camps in Sabi Sand. Suggest you inquire of those camps. You might also consider changing to one in the Timbavati Reserve.

That site Lynn refers to has some more good info. Here's their listing of Sabi Sand Reserve camps with rates.

djuma bush lodge is 4 miles on the map from elephant plains. it is a bit more expensive (about zar 3,000 pppn) but i was just there in december and you would like it.

you enter at the gowrie gate and there are easy to read signs to elephant plains and djuma.

you should also look into arathusa which is immediatly next door to ep.

even if another lodge LOOKS close on the map you have to be careful. due to property laws and right-of-ways, certain lodges only have access to certain gates. elephant plains is only a few miles from londolozi but you have to leave the sabi sands from the gowrie gate, drive throught the community, and re-enter at one of the other gates to get to londolozi. it can take about 2 hours!

I had a look an UMLANI which is rustic but seems to be very nice.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. We decided to just up the budget and have booked with Kirkmans Kamp. Hoping it was good choice!

Thanks

Kirkmans is great and you won't regret it! Excellent choice for that rate!
Great game drives and everybody entitled to a "window seat" - max 6 pax in the car. Not to mention the typical &beyond attitude towards guests: extremely friendly making everyone feeling being a friend instead of paying guest!

Enjoy yourself!
