For future reference-Africa Wins a
Again- is a common and well used saying. I thought you would have heard this many times b4.

Since I had not heard the "Africa wins again" or Awa" saying in my travels there, I was unfamiliar with what it the true meaning was. I did a little research to see what you meant and this is what I found. I thought I'd share it with the others. Let me know if this is close:

Africa wins Again is usually said after incidents such as:

A)a beloved missionary is butchered by his congregation, for no apparent reason

B)a tribal chief prefers to let his tribe starve to death rather than accepting food from the Red Cross (would mean he wasn’t all-powerful, you see)

C)an entire nation starves to death, while its ruler accumulates wealth in foreign banks

D)a new government comes into power, promising democracy, free elections etc., provided that the freedom doesn’t extend to the other tribe

E)the other tribe comes to power in a bloody coup, then promptly sets about slaughtering the first tribe

etc, etc, etc.

I found these explanations for the saying and my take on it is that "AWA" is used when there are just no good explanations or rationalizations when things seem to go bad or issues are out of hand.

What you meant makes a little more sense now.
