Help! In need of advice! Last minute trip to SA.
I 'm taking a last minute trip to Johannesburg and Cape town and am desperate for help. This is a dream come true for me and I'm sooo excited!
I will be visiting friends on business from the states and they have lots planned. But, I have two days in Johannesburg and one day in cape town to myself. I lLOVE adventure! Is there a day safari/backpack/hike or something in that vain in either place? Can anyone help? I would be forever thankful for any advice / direction/ tips.

I will get back to you on spicific dates. Thank you for your response. I am looking for a one or two night safari from Johannesburg but I will get back to u on the dates. Money wise, I can spend up to $400 but would like to spend less if I can. I don't mind camping, I love to do that.

Specific dates not required, just, like the month.
I really can't suggest much, hopefully some of the "locals" here know about hikes, day safaris, out of those cities. I know there are day safaris into Kruger but Kruger is almost a days drive from Johannesburg. So that would likely require an overnight which could be $$.
regards - tom

In Cape Town you could always climb Table Mountain. There are shark diving operations nearby as well. Seach the forums, I know there was a lot of discussion on this recently.
If you camped you might be able to do an overnight self-drive in Kruger. You'd need to rent a car and then find a camp to fit your budget - maybe some of the real Africa experts can weigh in with this one...

For Johannesburg, maybe something from Wilro tours would appeal to you. I did a half day trip to Rhino and Lion park from Joburg with Wilro and had a great guide and a nice time.
