HELP!!! Hotel "overbooked" so need new hotel in Fes, leaving three days!

My hotel in Fes, booked a month ago, now says it overbooked, and so-sorry. (Riad Dar Bensouda) This was to be my splurge at around 100E/night. Definitely looking for a Riad in the heart of the Medina. All of the availables have at least one really negative comment on TripAdvisor (I figure the negatives can be trusted??)

PLEASE PLEASE contact with any ideas? Riad Fes and Maison Bleu are well too expensive.

Here are a few that are available:

Dar Al Andalous (one room left)
Riad Layali Fes (one room left)
Riad Alya (one room left)
Riad Layla (same)
Riad Andalib
RIad Sarah
Riad La Perle De La Médina (one room left)
Riad Hala
Riad Dar Darma

Obviously I have read the reviews, but am looking for first hand experience (even if you've just been inside). Pleeeease?

Many thanks!

TF

Expedia says you can get a room at the Palais Jamai for $172. Maybe. This is THE hotel of Fes, in the medina.

Thanks so much. But a bit too far over my budget. But thanks for responding!

Anyone???

When I lived in Morocco, when we visited Fes we always stayed at the CTM Hotel which is located in the New Town right over the CTM bus terminal. I should think it would still be VERY cheap. It is a basic hotel, clean and centrally located.

I would not consider the Palais Jamai "the" hotel of Fes...maybe 20 years ago but not now with the beautiful riads available and most much less expensive. I'm sorry I don't know the specific riads mentioned above but most riads are really nice...and hopefully most do not overbook. I would give them a review based on that experience as anyone would want to avoid having to find a new place on short notice. Good luck.

Have booked at Riad Layla. Crossed fingers. Will report back. FWIW Bookings.com seems to be routinely less money.
