Is the Victoria and Alfred Hotel on the waterfront available -- it has a great location and I paid that rate for a visit in August.

Hi Filipa
For 2003? Good luck! You've left it very late. I suggest you try lastminute.com - you might be lucky.

Hi Filipa,

Ouch! I have to agree with Traci in that you will be very lucky to find any reasonable accommodation in Cape Town over the festive season at this stage. I for one dont know of any availability and would not know where to start looking. As Traci has told you Lastminute.com is your best bet to follow and if you se anything GRAB IT.

Hope you get sorted out somehow or other.

Enjoy our city if you do visit us.

Selwyn

Are you organising some tea and cookies for the Fodorites, and us Valies, that are visiting Cape Town over Christmas? :-)

(Just an idea...)

Selwyn_Davidowitz Dec 10th, 2003 01:01 AM

Hi Local John,

Always said the Vaalies did not know how to live it up. :)

Tea and cookies are for sissies - Blah Blah. In this town we have witblits and malva pudding for tea my friend. For those of you who dont know what these delicacies are we are talking of moonshine (white lightning) and sticky toffee pudding the South African way. :-!

Come visit us and you will find out more. 8-)
