If this is true, then it sounds like Julian embezzled funds from the partnership. Makes one wonder that Julian took off for a different forum at the same time.

If the funds were earned in the USA and taken out of the country, the IRS is going to want a piece of that from Julian or you. Spiriting the funds out of the country like that may even have broken a federal law or two.

Amen and perhaps legal action for wronged partners, just as legal action for wronged clients would be justified?

I have made amends with my clients. And as far as tax implications go, it is hard to be a profitable concern, when $125,000+ worth of confirmed bookings up and books a transatlantic flight to the UK. Chances are that I will not seek the original deposits back from the co-consiprator clients who enabled this, never mind that they were paid to the lodges.

It looks like no one is working at Fodor's otherwise this post would already be banned. Interesting to see that Rocco and Julian are friends for life.

If I could be a "fake" agent (like some others) I probably would be on safari all of the year.

The problem with Chief's is mentioned in different posts so I don't have to answer that one anymore.
Maybe one more thing At the moment, the vibe isn't right there due to staff problems.

Against my better judgment, one more clarification:

All applicable taxes have been paid despite the lack of cooperation from former partners regarding information needed to file said taxes.

Legal advice was obtained and followed regarding the dissolution of the partnership.

Cheers,
Julian

Ultimately Julian, you are very similar to Rocco. No fodors or tripadvisor would have meant a huge lack of initial and current trade.

You leave your email address with your screen name so someone can contact you. Especially when you give those inside industry tips and what Tico McNutt has been telling you.......................

BTW, I was actually looking through your website the other day and on Fodors. Where are these award winning photographs that you have taken?

Julian,

Paying taxes is not a legal defense from what amounts to nothing more than embezzlement, and we are not talking about a small amount here, we are talking six figures.

Do you deny that your new company hijacked clients that already had paid deposits?

I didn't think so.

I, too, am bored by this, but I have been villified long enough for issues that were out of my control.

The fact of the matter is that one company ended up paying for tens of thousands of dollars in deposits for bookings that were taken to another company.

Yes, my communication in earlier months sucked...I was sucker punched and took a while to regain my composure.

You, and this complete nonsense that degrades this entire site, remain boring.

I agree with Lynn, plbk4, Tom, among others...but this thread, distasteful though it may be, has served a good purpose and been more informative and therefore effective than the temporary suspensions of Rocco and Julian some months ago.

I could care less about what happened between Rocco and Julian. But the more they air their dirty laundry here, the less I think of both of them.

However, there were clients of Rocco's (confirmed as such by Rocco) who posted about their horrific experiences with him, particularly with respect to deposits never forwarded to camps. Until we hear they were made whole (from them, not Rocco), I think he should be called out every time he posts. Otherwise, newbies may become his next victim.

You believe what Julian has to say, but not Rocco. Its seems Rocco has made restitution or is in the process of doing so- he says. But I can't help but wonder how he got himself in that position. Julian doesn't dispute that he 'took' the clients. Could Rocco be that much of an idiot to bury himself this way or is there more then meets the eye.

After what has been said, I am not comfortable with your proposal of making unverifiable accusations against Rocco. Unless you are proposing we give equal treatment to Julian. Remember it was Julian's actions that led to the problem with clients deposits.
