Hair Etiquette
This might be a stupid question but I was just wandering.....
I don't plan on taking my blow waver... and although many hotels might have one in the room, they often don't work that fabulously and I don't also don't want to take heaps of time with it in the morning... I have long blonde hair and would it be ok if my hair was half dried when I went to breakfast in the morning?? I just thought it might classify me in derogatory way.. because "bathroom behaviour" should be completed in one's own bathroom!! Thanks.. lol |
I wouldn't sweat over whether you hair might be wet at some time. Often, simply due to the heat/humidity, anyone can have a half-wet head of hair anytime during the day.

I don't think anyone will even notice, much less care.

Well, when I moved to Cairo and went thru the "newbie" orientation, we were told NOT to go out with wet hair.....as only "working women" (if you get my drift) go out with wet hair! ;)
Now, going to breakfast in the hotel might be okay - since you're not technically out-and-about in public - so I'll let Debbie chime in with her thoughts. |
Who's going to be at breakfast in your hotel but other tourists? Do you care what they think? Buy a scarf and learn to put that on if it really bothers you. I never was told to go out with wet hair, but I've got VERY short hair and it dries in about 2 min.

or braid it while it's wet and no one will notice.

LOL! I had a friend move to Cairo about the same time as I did, but her company didn't have any formal orientation for expats. She had very long blond hair, and she would go to the gym, work out, take a shower, and walk home. She would get all kinds of whistles and stares and comments and just couldn't understand what the deal was. Then, we told her about the "wet hair" thing! She was absolutely mortified.....so she changed her routine to walk home and THEN take a shower. |
Well, I never (even at home) dry most of my naturally wavy hair - I just dry the bangs and front/top, the rest dries by itself and then I brush it out. I didn't have any problems - not that it even occurred to me that I might.
