I'm so saddened by this news. What a loss. She loved kitties so much and I always smiled when I saw her kitty icon at the ends of her posts. My heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends. With tears.

Doni, thank you for the information. There is a thread at the Lounge and many there are saddened to hear about her death.

Sincere sympathy to you and her family.

Doni,

I am so sorry to hear of Irma's sudden passing. What a reminder of the impermanence of our time in this world. I did not know her but have read her posts, mostly at the Lounge. She brought great passion to her postings, and now that you have provided these links, I have been able to see a part of her I had not known previously.

I think I will go through my day here in another city on a different continent petting the dogs I happen to meet in her memory.

Thank you for your thoughtful posting. My sympathies.

Her sudden passing is very sad.

My condolences to all who knew her or loved the passion she had for travel and the animals she spoke for.

Who's going to remind us not to walk with big cats?!

Doni - thanks for letting us know. Happy travels to Spassvogel on whatever lies ahead. I will miss the spunky comments she posted that showed so clearly how much she loved animals and cared for their well being - something I appreciated and identified with.

Thank you to all above that reminded me.

Dear Doni, this must be very difficult. I have a very few intimate internet friends here on fodor's and imagine just the loss you must be feeling. Best Wishes.

I posted this on the other thread. A few minutes of solitude and thinking of Spassvogel was in order for me, and this was what worked for me.

Deepest condolences to her family and friends. Spassvogel was a spunky and principled lady whose deep love of wildlife was evident in all her posts. She will be missed here.

Oh dear, I am so very sorry to see this sad news. We were just chatting about Australian foods last week when she was on her way home from here.

My sincere condolences to Irma's family and friends.

My deepest condolences to Spassvogel. I have not been a Fodorite for very long but I am very familiar with Irma's comments and help. I feel horrible for her poor kitties, families, and friends.

The world will be a less bright place without Spassvogel and her passion

@ everyone, Doni-

is there anyone on here that was a close friend of SV's? If there is a charity that is accepting donations in memory of SV please post details on here.
