gorrillapod xlr zoom

Has anyone used one of these on safari? If so can you tell me how well it worked?

Thanks

This is a kind of tripod is it?

Yes it is a small tripod with flexible legs so you can wrap it around anything and secure it anywhere. I am wondering how well it works for safari.

I think this is only of use for a simple point and shoot, which you should normally be able to hand hold. I would think it could only come in handy when you need a group picture without anyone having to hold the camera.

They make 3 sizes and the largest is designed to hold 6.5 lbs which would fit my canon and long lens. That is the one I am interested in.

I did a google search to take a look at it, don't know - I haven't ever seen one of these things in person!
