Gorilla
I have done safari in Tanzania and seen a lot of animals in the parks.
I'm interested in tracking gorillas but when I go to the various websites they seem to offer a fairly long safari with gorrilla tracking as part of the package. Could anyone recommend to me a trip that involves gorilla tracking only? Are the other national parks really worth a visit? How about Murchison's Falls? Thank you. |
Hi
You have simply to contact an agency and ask a quote for a short trip to bwindi, only for a gorilla trecking. If you are staying near kampala , you could also book your permit by yourself at the UWA office and take a public bus to reach Bwindi NP or Kisoro. If you want to spent a few days at Murchisson falls NP , you will need a car .;but they are many operator who can propose ot share a 3 days trip. When do you want to go ? I will go in september for a 2 weeks journey. I cannot wait ! Chinook |
You can also trek in Rwanda which may be a better option for a short gorilla only trip as the distance from Kigali to PNV is much shorter than the distance from Entebbe/Kampala to Bwindi.

Thank you.
I'll be going in November. Are the other parks worth seeing after the Tanzania safari? That is St elizabeth Park, etc? |
Hi
Queen Elizabeth ! I will tell you more in september . I think one big difference is that you can take a boat trip and look at the animals from the boat, I enjoy this idea . I don't like to sit all day in the car. In Uganda you do have a lot of possibilities to do walking safaris, boat launches, or activities which are not really safari . If you stay for a long time in Uganda , you could consider to spend a few days at lake Bunyonyi , a very nice and inexpensive place between Kampala and Bwindi . You can swim in the lake, canoing , visit markets .... I'm going to stay at http://www.susnow.org/amagara/retreat.htm it seems very nice Chinook |
