Getting an Egypt Visa with Israel Visa Stamp

Hi all,

I am a US citizen planning to fly from Israel to Cairo and tour Egypt for a week.

If I have an Israel visa stamp on my passport, will I run into issues with getting an Egyptian visa on arrival at Cairo Airport?

From what I have read this should not be an issue, but has anyone had recent problems with Egypt denying entry?

I don't think they can deny you entry, but that does not preclude the possibilities for "issues". There can still be "issues". You may be kept in line longer than the others, but maybe not. How are you arriving? Via EL AL? If so, you'll no doubt be with an entire plane full of people in the same boat, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

I've never been to Israel (and have no intention of going soon) so I'm obviously not talking from experience, but have had numerous customers over the last few months that arrived on EL AL and came on through. They weren't detained for any reason.

Enjoy your time in Egypt.

We have seen people denied entry in the past. To avoid that Israeli officials have been putting visas on separate pieces of paper which can be removed prior to entry to Egypt.

Be sure to ask, when entering Israel, to ask for that separate paper for your visa.
