Hi Kat,

Jay is correct in that Kirstenbosch is a wonderful botanical garden however do remember that not all the flowers and plants in this botanical garden are indigenous to our Cape floral kingdom.
If you travel on the Cape Peninsula then all that you will se is indigenous and would be part of what we call fynbos (fine bush) over here.

The garden near Kleinmond that Jay speaks of is called the Harold Porter botanical garden and is also wonderful especially during the latter months of the year when the Cape disas all come out in bloom. There is also a wonderful waterfall in this garden.

Kat wen I first read your mail I was under the impression that you were writing about private gardens in private homes. Unfortunately I dont know much about any of these facilities however if you want to speak to a tour operator who specialises in showing you local gardens in the Cape then please write to me and I will send you her address.

Hope this all helps florally speaking that is. )
