Gabon - In the Footsteps of Elephants

After working off Gabon for some time, we decided to use the opportunity and explore on land for two weeks. With the help of a local travel agent we booked a trip to the Parc de la Lekedi, where we could see orphaned western lowland gorillas and chimpanzees as well as a group of habituated mandrills before heading to the true wilderness of Sette-Cama, just south of Loango National Park. Here we spent nearly a week, going on boat trips and walking for hours in the dense forests and on the beach. We had some amazing encounters with forest elephants and even managed to catch a glimpse of a wild chimpanzee!

Great introduction to some of the lesser visited places in Africa. Great shots too!
