From Ulusaba to where...?
After five days at Ulusaba Lodge where can go to next? Is Londolzi too near and similar terrain? If not, which camp is most fun for a teenager - Tree Camp sounds good? Other choice is MalaMala which I read is only 90 minutes drive...is it worth changing lodges for this short distance? I cannot find a clear decent map which indicates the different sites.....help please! If we do drive and not fly who will drive us - I assume you cannot call a cab?!!!

If you are driven, the transfer can be arranged by either camp I believe.
Here are some threads comparing Londoliza and Mala Mala, plus extolling the virtues of Mala Mala. |
A map link and the other two fodors links:

After five days at one camp in the Sabie Sands I would encourage you to head out to another reserve in an entirely different eco-system.
That would mean excluding the various reserves up the western boundary of the kruger & northern Natal. It would bring into play places such as the Madikwe, Pilanesburg & Marakele. The eastern cape reserves would also be suitable alternates that offer a dynamic and different eco-system. Getting between the Sands and these alternate reserves would need to be done primarily by air, however if you weren't averse to a long "road trip" the same could be achieved by car. |
You can try for a stay at Manyaletti or Timbavarti Reserves, also at Kruger. The two private areas north of Sabi Sand. Either of these, have few camps, so you're not likely to see other vehicles. We split our time between Honeyguide at Manyaletti and Singita in Sabi Sands. Transfer between the two was by road, about 1/hr.
