French-speaking West Africa

My 18 year old daughter wants to do volunteer work in a French speaking West African country. It is quite hard to find placements but we have come up with some links in Benin, Togo and Senegal. Can anyone help with ideas to follow up? Has anyone visited this region and can offer advice, tips on travel and safety? And in particular, can you recommend the best French-speaking West African country.

I travelled solo for over two months in West Africa. She would find Burkina Faso, Benin and Togo quite amazing and very safe. The Burkinabés, Béninois and Togolais are very warm and welcoming. She will have a great experience.
