Free Safari photo e-book available today only: Dec 10

Wildlife photographer Uwe Skrzypczak has generously made his ebook on safari photography available for free today only (Dec 10) for 24 hours (it says 12 but its actually 24.) I am not sure I should post a direct link here but you can read about it here: http://www.dpreview.com/news/2011/12/10/freeebook

Use the Google docs link or RapidShare link to download (you'll need to search the posts) as the original server link is overloaded. There is a nice big section on the Serengeti and also on the Masa.

I hope its okay to post this but it doesn't say not to share!

Thanks for this, jc. Everyone and his/her mother must be trying to get at once because I'm timing out trying to get it. Will keep at it. Steve

I got it and have it on a sharing site. I would give link here but probably not "legal". Email me (my profile) and I will return link to you. It's a PDF file of 13MB.

I've glanced through it and it is well down, lots of good photo examples. The one thing I did not notice was discussing any difference about parks, game drives, where you may or may -not- go off road. Going off road, at least for me, is critical for photography. And off roading is not permitted in much of the Tanzania, eg Serengeti, Ngorongoro.

regards - tom

Try getting it at this site - it downloaded in a few seconds. You have to wait 10 seconds before they let you download, but then it was fast:

>>did not notice was discussing any difference about parks, game drives, where you may or may -not- go off road.

Well I think that may be intentional--if you read the intro section, he talks about how the information is applicable to wildlife photography anywhere, even if one wasn't going to Africa, so perhaps he didn't want to be too specific about parks. I don't think he was trying to do a site guide. That said, there is plenty of good info to digest!

Thanks for all the offers of help! After some serious Googling I found an alternate link through nikonrumors.com and was able to download very quickly.
