For Panecott...

You asked on another thread about a good safari operation to consider for a desired trip.

Have a look at this company offering some really great looking Botswana mobile camping safaris:

www.gametrailsbotswana.com

Although there is a single supplement, it is a very forgiving extra charge...not nearly as high as most single supplements that you will come across.

Cheers.

Rocco~that looks kind of interesting, but I can't find anything on the website about how many people on each safari or at each campsite. Can you get some info?
Thanks,
Dennis

Hi Rocco,
Probably a dumb question (: - is there a notable migration in Botswana? Is this the reason for mobile rather than perm. tents?
Thanks;
Sherry

Thanks for the link, Rocco. It does look interesting and the price is right. Have you ever used this company?
Another dumb question - I've noticed that they provide a list of agents in various countries. Is there any advantage to booking thru' an agent as opposed to directly with the company on line?
Also, I've noticed that many operators - altho' not this one - all offer the same package deals on their website, e.g., Taga, EyeonAfrica, 2Afrika,Wilderness Adventures all have the same trips. So are they essentially local travel agents or are they actual safari operators ? Do you know how this works? Thanks.

Hello,

The companies you listed are usually described as tour operators, but by your definition they are travel agents. They create tours, but do not run their own safaris. If companies offer similar itineraries, it's possible that they use the same 'ground handler' (usually Wilderness Safaris in Botswsana). However, you can always customise an itinerary to meet your needs -- both of my trips were booked through EOA and were customised for me.

Cheers,
Julian
