Footballs on a Boeing

We are flying off to Saadani National Park from LHR via Dar next week (lucky us) and taking a couple of footballs with us to give to the local school while we are there. We will take them deflated, with a pump.

So here's the question: do we put the in our main (hold) baggage or in our hand baggage? Although deflated, there will still be residual air in there and their valves will be closed.

Or doesn't it matter?

I'm sure someone out there will know.

in order to avoid any discussion either at check in or at customs i would always put such items into checked-in luggage.

cannot imagine that the deflated balls might have any impact ...

happy landings!

In your checked bags.

Besides the possibiity of some airport agent questioning these items, you certainly don't need them in your carryon bags.

Wistman, please report on Saadani. Nothing has been posted here about it for quite a while.

And of course have a great trip!

Yes, I will report back on Saadani.

Our route goes Saadani (Saadani Safari Camp)- Ruaha (Mdonya and Mwagusi) - Selous (Impala). We think that makes for a nice mix and we are ridiculously excited about it.
