flight times JNB to Windhoek?

We're looking at two choices. Flying from
JNB to Windhoek at 10h55, arriving 11h55
returning (another day) 19h00, arriving JNB at 22h00. (SA)

Or we can flying JNB-W 12h00, arriving 12h55
leaving 14h00, arriving 16h50 (BA)

It is cheaper to do the second but I worry that it cuts another hour out of being in Namibia (we're only there 4 nts) and we have to take another plane from Windhoek).

Is there not a way to arrive at an earlier time (like 9 or 10AM) and leave around 4or 5 or 6?

The only earlier SA flight is SA1731 departing JNB at 6:20 and arriving WDH at 7:20 but this flight doesn't operate on Sat or Sun. Are you needing to fly on one of those days?

BA only has one flight a day between JNB and WDH.

Air Namibia has a flight that departs JNB at 7:45 arriving WDH at 8:45 (SW703). You can return on SW712 which departs WDH at 17:45 arriving JNB at 20:30.

Those, as far as I know, are pretty much your options.

Hi Patty. Not on Sat or Sun. That Air Nam schedule seems the best I wonder why it wasn't suggested. Is safety an issue or are they much more expensive?

One more thing - is the 12:30 flight from Mala mala to JNB the latest flight on a Tuesday? Meaning is there a 3 PM or 4 or 5PM? Thx.

You could do a later flight from Kruger airport and not cut into your morning drive at MM!!!- arrange for a drive transfer, which is not bad at all. I did this last year, while visiting exeter.

Hi Hari, this is interesting.

I also found out we can take Nelair leaving 1 1/2 hrs later, getting in jnb around 3. What time does the morning drive end (rattrays)?

The Air Namibia flights were priced slightly higher than SA or BA for some dates I priced in June. I don't know their safety record. Not familiar with intra-South Africa flights, sorry.

Patty, again you were a big help because by telling my TA of this she said she's checking to see if they can fly me out of the camp later so we're not waiting in Windhoek. Thank you!
