I'm sure I have read this somewhere but cannot locate it. I'm picking seats for VFA to JNB flight and would like to get the best seat for viewing the falls. Thanks,

Leaving from Livingstone to JNB the right side gets the view.
Don't know about VFA. Is there another airport there or do you mean LVI?

The Comair flight I have lists VFA as the airport so I don't know about any others.

I don't recall seeing the falls from takeoff from VFA - the airport is some distance to the south of the falls and the planes turn south immediately on takeoff, i.e., away from the falls. If I was a gambler I'd pick the LH side for takeoff, but I could be 180 degrees off.

Thank you. I guess only the Livingstone flight gets the view! Oh well. I'll just spend extra time looking at it on the ground.

You could also see it from the helicopter tour, which is what I did.

Good question.....can't remember!!! We took the flight from Livingstone to Kasane while transferring to Lebala camp in Botswana. The pilot from Moremi air was nice to fly us over the falls and was an amazing view!!!

I don't think I've ever had a great view of the falls while flying into or out of VFA. There was a reasonable non-photographic view on one occasion when our BAe146 pilot turned deliberately for our benefit on the very short flight from VFA to Kasane. My best view was from a helicopter.
