Hi:
Regarding the gorilla trekking in Uganda, it depends on where the gorillas are. I've done in three times - Rwanda, Zaire and Uganda. Every time I've had to hike three or four hours to find the gorillas - only to hear that the group the day before found them in 15 minutes!!! You are hiking through the bush, with the guides hacking a path in front of you. It is sometimes steep, and your constantly grabbing on to nettles and thorns - so gloves are a good idea. I am in my mid-50's, and not in good shape, but I was able to do the treks. Somehow the thought of seeing these magnificent animals gives you added energy and determination.
I still correspond with one of the guides at Bwindi Impenetrable Forrest, so if you are interested in writing to him about when you need to make reservations, I'll be glad to give it to you.
Lynda Howland

AGain - re: gorilla tracking. The guide that I previous mentioned, who lives is Kampala, is Cliff Kisitu. His e-mail address is [email protected] Homweaddress is PO Box 21777, Kampala, Uganda. He can do very inexpensive trips - but the gorilla tracking is at least $100. Again, if you'd like the name and address of the Bwindi guide, let me know.
Lynda Howland

Linda, I'm interested in the name of the Bwindi guide. Where did you stay in Bwindi?
