Finding car & driver
We are planning a two-week trip to Tanzania for Sept '04. The probable itinerary is Arusha-Tarangire-Ngorongoro-village(s) for cultural tourism-Pare and/or Usambara mountain area-Dar Es Salaam.
Does anyone have suggestions as to how best to find a driver/guide and auto?
Also, does it make sense to start/end the trip from the same place or is one-way travel (like we're planning) practical?
We would appreciate your comments and suggestions.

Try these companies which returned very good quotes for my aborted trip to Tanzania:
Tanzania Serengeti Adventures
Predator Tours
Leopard Tours
Peacock Tours
Just do a search on google.com and that will probably produce the websites.
They will provide you with a driver and vehicle for the duration of your trip.
Good luck.
NOTE: There is a benefit to these tour operators quoting me in that I am all too happy to recommend them to others, even if, I, myself, did not use their services.

As to whether it's better to arrive and depart in different places, I would suggest you contact the airlines to determine the fares
arriving in Arusha/Kilimanjaro (JRO) and departing Dar
versus
arriving/departing JRO
With this info you have a better idea in presenting your itinerary to the tour operators Roccco listed above (or others you may find or hear about).
Admitting my lack of information, where exactly is "Pare and/or Usambara mountain area"
