Finch Hattons camp

Has anyone stayed here recently? Do all of their tents overlook the springs? The pictures look great and the price is very reasonable. Anything I need to be concerned about? I few websites mention that "guests dress for dinner". I would assume that long pants/collared shirt for men is sufficient but please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

Hi again Patti. I was also interested in Finch Hattons when I was planning my itinerary. . It looks great and I've read somewhere good things about it. I emailed Finch Hattons at that time and one of my worries was exactly yoursquot; do we really have to dress up for dinner? do men have to wear jacket and tie?" ( My 24 year old son is also travelling with me and he wouldn't really want to take a jacket and tie for a safari, lol). The manager or owner, I don't know exactly who she was , replied to me politely that long pants and shirt would be accepted because unfortunately nowadays things aren't what they used to be . So , don't worry about that.
By the way, has Sun Trecks already replied to you?

The photos and comments re "dressing for dinner" is interesting, but it is rare that people nowadays travel with "dress" clothing when going on safari. However, long pants and shirt with long sleeves is best for evenings as that's mossie biting time (dusk to dawn). And don't forget a jacket or sweater as the evenings can be quite chilly depending on time of year.

The only place we saw men in tuxedos while on safari - our waiters at the camp we were visiting - but guests were in their safaris clothing.

That's what I thought, just wanted to make sure nothing more was expected.

Tere,
I've decided to book with Eastern & Southern Safaris. I'm happy with the prices they quoted me and Serah has been great in providing detailed answers to all of my questions.
