Finally finished our itinerary for Uganda and Rwanda!

We are very, very happy with it. Here it is. SO excited. Will be there next June.

ITINERARY

Legend: B L & D: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 1 ARRIVAL –Meet and greet at Entebbe airport: transfer to Kampala 45 minutes with overnight at Le Petit Village. http://www.lepetitvillage.net">www.l...titvillage.net

Safari briefing before departure either this evening or next morning.

Dinner, if desired, open.

Day 2 Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park B L & D
Depart Kampala early morning for Fort Portal/ Kibale Forest. Transit time approx 4 – 5 hours. Stop along the way at the Nakayima Tree Cultural Heritage Site in Mubende. Visit Mountains of the Moon Hotel in Fort Portal for lunch. Enjoy a walk in the Peri-Urban forest and visit the Botanical Gardens. Day 3 Kibale Forest National Park B L & D
Morning visit to Kibale Forest. After briefing by Ranger, head into the forest for Chimp Tracking (2 – 4 hours)unch with KAFRED Community Group followed by Afternoon visit to Bigodi Swamp and Community Women’s Group.

Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Cottages

Day 4 Kibale Forest to Queen Elizabeth National Park B L & D
2nd Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale forest. Lunch. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP: Transit time approx 2 – 3 hours: Pass along the edge of the Rwenzori Mountains: Cross Equator, but very simple signage: Check-in to Mweya Safari Lodge. Evening game drive: http://www.mweyalodge.com">www.mweyalodge.com

Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge with dinner at the Lodge.

Day 5 Queen Elizabeth National Park B L & D
Morning game drive: Afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel - 2hrs. Evening game drive, if so desired.

Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge with meals at the Lodge.

Day 6 Queen Elizabeth National Park to Ishasha Sector B L & D
After breakfast, transfer to Isahasa section of Queen Elizabeth NP with packed lunch: Transit time approx 4 – 5 hrs: Full Afternoon Game Drive in search of tree climbing lions: http://www.wildfrontiers.co.ug">www....rontiers.co.ug

Dinner and overnight at Ishasha Wilderness Camp.

Day 7 Ishasha Sector to Bwindi B L & D
Morning Game Drive: Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable NP: Transit time 2 – 3 hours: Afternoon visit to Pygmy village: Overnight at Silverback Safari Lodge. http://www.silverbacksafari.com">www...backsafari.com


Day 8 Bwindi B L & D
Transfer to staging are for briefing: Gorilla Trekking escorted by rangers: Meals and overnight at Silverback Safari Lodge.

Day 9 Bwindi to Parc de Volcans B
Proceed from Bwindi down to to Parc de Volcans in Rwanda, including border crossing: Transit time approx 5 - 6 hours: Pass through the beautiful Kigezi highlands, the Switzerland of Africa:

Lunch and dinner open.

Overnight at Kinigi Guest House in self-contained

Day 10 Parc de Volcans B
Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda in Parc de Volcans: Meet for briefing at Rangers station before proceeding into the forest for time with the marvelous Mountain Gorillas.

Lunch and dinner open.

Overnight at Kinegi Guest House

Day 11 Parc de Volcans to Kigalil B & D
Morning transfer to Kigali: Kigali City tour including visit to Genocide Museum: Afternoon rest and relax: http://www.gorillashotel.com">www.go...illashotel.com

Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Hotel in Kigali.

Day 12 Kigali to Lake Mburo B L & D
Transfer morning hours from Kigali, crossing to Uganda, and proceeding for dinner and overnight at Lake Mburo Tented Camp. Evening game drive. Transit time approximately 7 hours.

Day 13 Lake Mburo B L & D
Morning game drive and afternoon boat ride on Lake Mburo. Visit various view points in the park. Dinner and overnight at Lake Mburo Tented Camp.

Day 14 Lake Mburo to Jinja B L
Early morning game walk in search of Hyena. Depart after lunch for 5 hour drive to Jinja. Overnight at Nile Porch in Jinja, or similar. http://www.nileporch.com">www.nileporch.com.

Dinner open. Try the Ribs!! They are wonderful.

Day 15 Jinja-Kampala-Entebbe B L
Starting from Jinja, visit the Bujagali Falls and the Source of the Nile Gardens with a boat ride. Proceed to Kampala, with stop at Mubira Forest for a walk. Lunch in Kampala open, but many choices. Afternoon City Tour with Kabaka’s Palace and Uganda National Museum.

Transfer to airport at 2030 for onward flight.

Thanks. I am excited. I am going to Japan in less than five weeks, so I need to get excited about that first.

Ca_Vol, I see you have time for one dinner and one lunch in Kampala -- plenty of time for that Indian restaurant my son recommended

I guess the question is: Do we want to eat Indian food before 20 plus hours of flying?

Ha ha, sounds like a gamble to me!

Looks like a great trip! We leave for Uganda & Rwanda in about 4 weeks, and just reading your itinerary gets me excited all over again!

Looks like a wonderful itinerary. Have a fantastic time. Now you can finally set the planning aside and start getting excited about Japan.
