What an adventure and holy cow on the 18,500 - is that inches? If so, I could do that but only if crawling and there was a Mojito at the top, LOL.

If whining is what it takes, then go ahead and whine!
I had to laugh at the difference in our planning styles. You have a last minute departure. I was testing my raingear almost 6 months in advance to make sure it is still effective and won't fail when there are showers enroute to the gorillas.
Don't leave the packing for last minute though.
Have a marvelous time.

Packing...is that when you cram stuff into a duffel bag and go?
That's about what it boils down to for me AFTER I worry about all the camera gear getting packed nice and comfy. And making sure it all works.
Started trying to pack this morning, which is actually good for me.

But don't expect a trip report until someone hassles me into it. I'm not real good about them.
Looking forward to Bots too. Never thought I'd be able to afford to get there either but got some GREAT green season rates which is why I'm going now. Better than what Kenya/Tanzania was going to cost me.
Can't afford high season so if I miss a critter or two because of the season, what the heck, I'm still happy that I finally got to go!
Back to packing now...can you tell I'm procrastinating?...;-)

Well, I'm off first thing in the morning. Got to finish up the packing. It's tougher to do now, having to pack for Kili and a regular safari too. Two suitcases and my camera gear. Geez, I'll probably get hit with some stiff baggage fees.
A special thanks to those of you who helped sponsor me on the climb. It is really appreciated. Getting really anxious about it for some reason. Woke up wishing I could change my mind. Yikes!
