An excellent trip in Egypt

I had a conference for engineering in Cairo, and then stayed 9 days more with my husband and 5 people from that conference. We were in Egypt a total of 9 days this is not enough time to see everything, we had plans to visit Cairo and Giza, went after to see Aswan and Abu Simbel, then to join our cruise ship for the Nile cruise to visit Luxor, Kom Ombo and Edfu, and then went for a brief visit to Red sea (Hurghada).

We chose egypt last minute itinerary for hotels and transport, they worked through every item and attempt to obtain the best possible deals and prices of hotels to stay at and which methods of transport to use to get around in our tour and helped us make more informed decisions. They were also very reasonably priced.

We met Mr. George the tour manager of our tours, had a little discussion about our itinerary. He gave us Egyptian mobile phone with some credits to able to contact someone if we needed or wanted to check something on our itinerary or if we have any problem during our trip.

Next morning we were picked up at 0730 by our guide, to visit Giza Pyramids. Climbed inside The Great Pyramid not much to look at but was amazing. We also went inside one of the private tombs, with amazing reliefs telling the story of their daily life. We visited the solar boat museum, the viewpoint, The Sphinx and the mummification temple. The bad thing that some vendors are pushing you to buy some statues and tourist cards in an inappropriate manner, but the guide helped us a lot of friction to prevent these. Then Egyptian Museum, was fabulous

Then had a flight to Aswan, We stayed at Jamila Nile Cruise, the staff were nice and friendly, food was very good. I will never forget our trip to Abu Simbel; the car was comfortable and the driver is friendly; the van carried a large ice-box and snacks for the afternoon meal. Abu Simbel was more than beautiful and interesting place.

The ship made a couple of stops on the way: Kom Ombo and Edfu.. This was arranged very efficiently, two temples are right along the Nile. The Temple of Horus at Edfu was a lot larger and a lot more crowded than Kom.

There was difficulty in reaching the temple because of the carriages and the bad behavior in dealing with people and try to pressure to take more and for tipping, Luxor was wonderful place with nice weather than Cairo, the only thing there don’t go with any man on the street, or with carriages with yourself, they will try to stop at some shops and pushing to buy ant tourist staff with high price, Just say NO. or tell your agent to organize it.
We had a relaxed time in Hurghada at Marriott resort, nice room with sea view, food is very tasty and excellent room service.
We had an excellent experience with you guys and very pleased with all that we saw.
I will be happy to answer any questions.

I would highly recommend guides guides and Egyptlastminute.com for helping me to customize my itinerary and know such helpful information in short time during my last minutes booking to Egypt.

All in all We had an excellent experiencein Egypt and we are very pleased with all that we saw.
I will be happy to answer any questions..

I have a couple of questions since Egypt is one of the places on our radar for vacation this year. First, when did you go? I understand that some months are extremely hot and you mentioned the heat. Secondly, did Egyptlastminute set up the guide for you? And, lastly, since my husband is very sensitive to motion sickness, was the Nile cruise smooth or more like an open sea cruise? Thanks for your response.

Your husband can rest at ease knowing that the Nile cruise is very very smooth. The river has NO rapids in the area your ship will be in, and the ships are huge for the river, so nothing less than an earthquake (which we get very few of) would rock that boat.
The most disturbing thing about the Nile cruises are the ships engines or the noise from the disco.

The white desert would have been another fantastic place to visit, but I guess 9 days is gonna be a bit tight. I did enjoy the trip too, but it's a pity the place is more chaotic now with the unrest and overzealous touts. Nevertheless, had a fantastic time there - http://www.garylow.sg/egypt-2012.html
